For the ultimate reality show they faked the apocalypse
On their way to film a reality show in Africa, the contestants are told that terrorists have released a bioweapon in the world’s busiest airports and they will have to make an emergency landing at a remote jungle airfield. Right away they come under attack by a vicious warlord and discover they are sitting on a cache of drugs and guns. Daily the news shows them a world collapsing into anarchy as the virus spreads out of control, while the warlord’s attacks claim their flight crew and their jet.
Meanwhile, hidden cameras stream every minute of the drama to a worldwide audience. The drugs are fake, the bullets are blanks, and the warlord is being paid to stage the attacks. It’s the most successful show ever and the profits are obscene.
Inevitably the danger turns real, but the invisible, billionaire investors behind the show are making too much money and they won’t let the show’s producer pull the contestants out. With time running out, the producer hatches a desperate plan to rescue the contestants before they are murdered in front of the whole world.
